What Are Teramind BI Reports?
Teramind Business Intelligence (BI) Reports are powerful built-in analytics dashboards that give managers fast, visual access to employee activity, productivity metrics, security risks, and compliance data — without having to build anything from scratch.
Teramind ships with 20 pre-built report templates covering everything from AI/LLM usage to network monitoring. Each report is composed of multiple tabs and widgets (bar charts, pie charts, heat maps, data grids) that you can filter, drill into, and export.
Important: BI Report data is not real-time. Refresh cycles can take up to 4 hours. For permanent customisations, clone a pre-built report and save it as a Custom BI Report — changes made directly to pre-built templates are temporary.
The 20 Pre-Built Report Templates
1. LLM (AI Usage)
Tracks how your team uses AI tools like ChatGPT and Google AI. Captures user prompts, model responses, conversation titles, and shared files. Supports ChatGPT Web on Windows/Mac and Google AI (AI Mode).
Note: File downloads and image-embedded prompts are not captured.
2. Applications & Websites
Surfaces application and web usage statistics per employee and department. Three tabs — Basic, Aggregated, and Categories — let you see top users, top apps/domains, security categories, and productivity classifications over time.
3. Productivity
Highlights productivity and performance KPIs per employee and department: active work time, idle time, productive time, and activity percentage. A dedicated Tasks tab groups data by assigned tasks.
4. Behavior Alerts
Shows rule violation events (Regular Rules) and anomalies (Anomaly Rules), the automated actions Teramind took, and per-employee risk scores. A Risk Heat Map visualises risk by department or individual.
Requires Behavior Rules with Tags and Risk Thresholds configured.
5. Emails
Full visibility into inbound and outbound email activity: attachments, target domains, source statistics — across multiple tabs including Attachments, Targets, and Sources.
6. Instant Messaging
Tracks IM activity across chat platforms: message counts, top contacts, attachment transfers, and timeline views.
7. Keystrokes
Records typed content across applications — useful for detecting sensitive data input, policy violations, or unusual typing patterns.
8. File Events
Monitors file operations (create, copy, move, delete, rename) on local drives and mapped network shares. Helps identify data exfiltration attempts or accidental data loss.
9. Web File Events
Tracks file uploads and downloads through web browsers — critical for detecting sensitive data being moved to personal cloud storage or external sites.
10. Console Commands
Captures commands run in terminal/command-line interfaces. Essential for monitoring privileged users and detecting malicious scripts.
11. Searches
Logs search queries made in browsers and applications. Helps identify employees researching competitors, job listings, or restricted topics.
12. Printing
Records print jobs: document names, printers used, page counts, and timestamps. Supports print-based DLP policies.
13. Social Media
Tracks social media activity by platform, including time spent and content interactions.
14. Login Records
Shows authentication events — successful logins, failed attempts, session durations, and off-hours access patterns.
15. Geographic Location
Maps employee activity by physical or network location. Useful for enforcing geo-based policies and identifying anomalous remote access.
16. Audit
Full audit trail of administrative actions within Teramind itself — who changed what policy, when. Critical for compliance and change management.
17. Camera Usage
Monitors webcam activation events. Helps enforce clean desk / privacy policies and detect unauthorised recording.
18. Online Meetings
Tracks video conferencing activity (Zoom, Teams, Meet): meeting durations, participants, and frequency.
19. Network Monitoring
Provides network-level visibility: bandwidth usage, connection endpoints, protocols, and anomalous traffic patterns.
20. All Events
A unified timeline view across every event type — useful for incident investigation when you need a complete picture of a specific employee or time window.
Custom BI Reports
If none of the pre-built templates match your exact needs, Teramind lets you build Custom BI Reports from scratch. You choose the data source, add your own widgets, set layout and filters, and save the report permanently. Custom reports are the right choice when you need:
- Specific KPI combinations not covered by a single template
- Reports scoped to a particular team or project
- Permanent widget configurations that survive across sessions
Filtering & Drill-Down
Every BI report supports multi-dimensional filtering:
| Filter Type | Options |
|---|---|
| Employee / Computer | Individual, group, department |
| Time Range | Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, custom range |
| Category | Application category, security classification |
| Department | Org-chart based grouping |
Clicking into a widget data point typically opens a detailed event list, letting you move from a high-level metric to the raw events behind it.
Export & Scheduling
Reports can be:
- Exported as PDF or CSV directly from the report view
- Emailed to stakeholders on a schedule
- Scheduled to run automatically at set intervals (daily, weekly, monthly)
Scheduled reports are configured under the report settings and delivered to a specified email list — useful for automated weekly executive summaries or daily security digests.
Summary
Teramind BI Reports give you a structured, no-code way to answer the most common employee monitoring and security questions. The 20 pre-built templates cover the majority of use cases out of the box; the Custom BI Report builder handles the rest. With flexible filtering, drill-down, and automated delivery, BI Reports are one of the highest-value features in any Teramind deployment.
